DR. PAUL RAAS

Gynecologist and obstetrician specialized in disorders of the menstrual cycle and menopause.

He studied Human Medicine University of Leuven (Belgium) and graduated "cum laude" in 1984. He completed his residency in Gynecology and Obstetrics in 1990 and studied Sexology and Family Sciences to obtain the "Certificate in Medical Sexology" at the same university.

He has extensive experience in the treatment of endometriosis and has developed the "micro-contactperitoneoscopy" surgical technique to study its different appearances. His work in this area has led him to a greater understanding of menstruation, which is the cause of this disease. In addition, his ongoing training and daily treatment in the clinic for menstrual disorders, including menopause, have also allowed him to acquire a deep understanding of the female hormonal system.

He is one of the first gynecologists to promote the continuous taking of the contraceptive pill (without pausing) and to recommend that women reduce the number of cycles to prevent the development of diseases and disorders of the reproductive organs, among others.

His more than 30 years of gynecological and obstetric practice have shown him the importance of hormonal treatment for the management of menstrual disorders and menopause, as well as the prevention of cancer, cognitive impairment, coronary heart disease, osteoporosis and many other age-related problems.

His extensive experience finally guided him towards a more comprehensive and individualized approach to medicine, which has materialized in the founding of the Profemina Clinic as a women's health center in 2018.
